DIXFIELD — The Board of Selectmen voted Monday night to accept a bid from Rowe Auburn for a police vehicle.

Town Manager Linda Pagels-Wentworth said the Police Department will trade in its 2009 Ford Expedition for $5,000 and buy a 2014 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor with a road-ready package for $24,626.

Police chief Richard Pickett said Rowe Auburn provided the lowest bid, and the $5,000 trade-in was included in the price.

In other business, selectmen continued discussion on what to do with the maintenance garage roof.

At its Nov. 4 meeting, Pagels-Wentworth said she visited the garage with Code Enforcement Officer Calvin Beaumier and found significant damage, including condensation in the insulation, erosion near the roof and bolts in disrepair.

“The selectmen decided to patch up the damage from the inside of the garage, at least until the spring,” Pagels-Wentworth said Monday. “It’s just too cold to do it right now. Once the weather improves, we can patch it up from the outside.”
