FARMINGTON — A New Sharon woman has been sentenced to 21 days in jail for providing alcohol to two teenagers who got drunk and crashed a stolen pickup truck.
Caryn Savage was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of allowing a minor to consume liquor. The Online Sentinel reported that in exchange, prosecutors dropped felony charges against the 27-year-old woman for the June crash. She was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
Police said a 19-year-old man and his 15-year-old passenger were injured in the crash about a mile from Savage’s home. The pickup truck had been taken from a Harmony man without his permission and was demolished.
The 15-year-old passenger was hospitalized with a head injury.
