RANGELEY — The 26th annual lighting of the Giving Tree will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Christmas Tree, next to the Chamber of Commerce Building near the entrance to Town Park.
There will be live music, Christmas carols and surprise guests. There will be a reception with Santa Claus immediately following the lighting at the Congregational Church Barn, on the corner of Pleasant and High streets.
The Giving Tree of Rangeley is an all-volunteer and all-donation-supported organization that provides support to families and seniors in the Rangeley area. The year-round group helps people whenever a need arises.
To make a donation of warm clothing, toys, books, etc. for the children, bring them unwrapped to the tree and there will be donation boxes available. To help bring cheer to community seniors this year, the group is collecting $30 IGA gift cards.
Contributions may also be sent year-round to The Giving Tree of Rangeley, PO Box 222, Rangeley, ME 04970, or drop off at the Chamber of Commerce and the Skowhegan Savings Bank (formerly the Camden National Bank on the corner of Main and Lake streets).
