BETHEL — The ninth annual Telstar Middle School ArtReach Jamboree and Student Art Sale will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the Telstar Regional Middle/High School auditorium and cafeteria.

Visual art teacher Melissa Prescott said the theme focuses on service-learning projects, specifically to help the newly organized Heart of the Mountains animal shelter founded by Cassie Mason and Wendy Youmans.

The two women will provide information on the shelter.

Students participating in the exhibit and sale are in the advanced art classes. A short film they produced about the new shelter will be shown.

Along with animal-themed art on exhibit and for sale by the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students, there will be drawings, paintings, dog and cat toys, glazed ceramics and music.

Beginning at 6 p.m., the music of Jewel Clark and Donnie Katlin, Richard Felt and Friends, Late for Assembly and Dennie Breau will be presented. Some students will jam with musicians.

In past years, the event has drawn hundreds of people from throughout SAD 44, which includes Andover, Bethel, Greenwood, Newry and Woodstock.

The event is free and refreshments will be served.

In case of bad weather, the show and exhibit will be held Friday, Dec. 6, at the same time.
