St. Michael’s Parish fair Dec. 7
AUBURN — St. Michael’s Parish, 78 Pleasant St., will hold a fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.
Christmas items, knitted items, kitchen items, wreaths, children’s room, jewelry, baked goods, silent auction and more will be up for sale.
Gingerbread house workshop
AUBURN — The Auburn Public library will again host a gingerbread house making workshop on Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Maggie Trafton Program room.
Two sessions will be offered, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon.
Children ages 6 through 12 are invited to join longtime library volunteer Pat Masonheimer and her family as they help children create their very own gingerbread houses to enjoy during the holiday season.
After a retelling of the story, children will have the opportunity to let their creativity shine as they craft personalized gingerbread houses. All materials are provided.

Knights, St. Dom’s bean supper
LEWISTON — The Holy Cross Knights of Columbus Council 12,652 and St. Dominic Academy will hold a bean supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Holy Cross Church Hall, 1080 Lisbon St.
Cost is $7 per person, $4 for children ages 5-12. Take out is available.
Part of the proceeds from this month’s supper will benefit St. Dom’s Mission Mississippi, where students spend a week in Mississippi doing missionary work during spring break.

Holiday cultures at Show & Tell
LEWISTON — In an effort to enhance cultural understanding — a goal of the 2013-14 Lewiston Youth Advisory Council — the group will host a “Share, Show & Tell” about December holidays from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at The Downstage, 5 Canal Street Alley, below/back of LA Arts. The gathering is free and open to the public.
Members of LYAC will share the meaning and traditions of various December holidays to include Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Saint Nicholas Day, Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Lucia Day, Las Posadas, Boxing Day, Omisoka and Bodhi Day.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to share their holiday traditions and memorable moments. Cultural holiday refreshment samples will also be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Annual Shaker Christmas fair
NEW GLOUCESTER — The annual Shaker Christmas Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, 707 Shaker Road, Route 26.
Experience this nostalgic holiday tradition at America’s only active Shaker Community. Specialties include Shaker baked goods such as wheat bread, cinnamon-raisin bread, Sister Frances’ famous fruitcakes, fresh-baked herbal biscuits, cookies and more.
There will also be a wide selection of gifts and holiday items such as Shaker culinary herbs and herbal teas, pickles, jellies, old-fashioned candy, Shaker biscuit mix and Shaker pancake mix, maple syrup, pickles, cheese, woodenware, furniture, antiques, baskets, knit goods, toys, ornaments, fresh-cut Maine Christmas trees and decorated balsam wreaths, hot cider, homemade doughnuts and more.

POLAND — Poland Community Church’s annual Christmas fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the church, Route 26.
The fair will include holiday gifts, baked goods, a silent auction, twice nice, wreaths, raffles and a luncheon.
Bradbury Arts holiday show, sale
POWNAL — Bradbury Mountain Arts 15th annual Holiday Show & Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at historic Mallett Hall in Pownal Center, 429 Hallowell Road, Route 9.
Fine art and crafts will include paintings, prints, photography, turned wood, jewelry, ceramics, paper arts, floor cloths, glass and mixed media. Also included are wreaths, refreshments and a raffle.

Knights plan bean, casserole supper
SABATTUS — The Knights of Columbus of the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish will sponsor a baked beans and casserole supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Our Lady of the Rosary, 131 High St.
Proceeds will benefit parish programs.
The complete supper will include desserts and beverages. Contributions: $7.50 for adults, $3 for children under 12.

Breakfast with Santa Dec. 8, 15
MECHANIC FALLS — Breakfast with Santa will take place from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sundays, Dec. 8 and 15, at American Legion Riders Post 150.
Cost is $7 per person, children under 3 free. Includes picture with Santa.
There will be activities, crafts, door prizes and raffles. The Santa Parade of Trees winners will be drawn at the Dec. 8 breakfast.
