FARMINGTON – SugarWood Gallery will exhibit the works of
of Farmington during December beginning with a reception from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, followed by another reception from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.
For the past 33 years this Farmington couple has shared their interest in art. Both started painting in oils but have found watercolor to be their medium of choice when depicting Maine scenes. Together they have participated in sidewalk shows and exhibited in many galleries.
An educator by training, Stan served as principal at Mt. Blue High School for 18 years. After retiring in 1983, he has devoted more time to painting. A self-taught artist, he has continued his love of education and conducts watercolor classes at their home studio. Traditional framing is also offered at his studio.
Barbara has worked in the medical and dental fields and still enjoys working part time.
Travel to Europe has afforded the Keirsteads the opportunity to view first hand renowned masterpieces in London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Vienna, Rome and Florence.
