Coach: Travis Magnusson (third year)

Last year’s record: 19-2, lost Western C semifinal

Returning letterwinners: Senior — Dylan Kidder (6-0 forward); Junior — Kaine Hutchins (6-2 forward), Tyler Frost (5-9 guard), Nick St. Germain (6-3 center), Joe Casey (5-10 guard); Sophomore — Riley Robinson (6-2 guard), Clay Swett (6-4 center).

Key loses: Travis Frost (guard), Hunter Ross (guard), Robbie Babb (forward), Chad Snowman (guard).

Promising newcomers: None.

Outlook: The Cougars had their streaks of four consecutive Western C titles and 13-game regional tournament wins snapped in last year’s semifinals by Waynflete, but they have the mix to start another impressive run. Robinson will be one of the top players in Class C, while Frost, Kidder and Hutchins have garnered plenty of big-game experience in multiple sports. They’ll miss Travis Frost and Ross’ quickness, but will still be able to match up with anyone in the physical MVC. With low numbers this year, Magnusson is looking for newcomers to emerge for dependable depth.
