BANGOR — The woman who drove the getaway car during a Jan. 22 robbery of a CVS pharmacy in Augusta was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court to 18 months in prison.
Candice Marie Eaton, 26, pleaded guilty in April to one count of being an accessory after the fact to the robbery of a pharmacy, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
U.S. District Judge John Woodcock ordered her to pay a $5,000 fine and $1,587 in restitution with her co-defendants. In addition to prison time, the judge sentenced Eaton to three years of supervised release following her prison term.
Anthony Post, 20, of Auburn entered the CVS on Cony Circle wearing sunglasses and a scarf across his face, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Post gave a note to a pharmacy technician that demanded oxycodone, claimed he had a gun, and threatened to shoot if his demand was not met.
Eaton and Stephanie McCormick, 23, of Augusta were in Eaton’s car waiting for Post, according to court documents. McCormick had planned the robbery and authored the demand note.
McCormick was sentenced Tuesday to 46 months in prison and fined $1,000. Post is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 3. He and his cousin McCormick pleaded guilty to a charge of interference with commerce by robbery.
Eaton faced up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $125,000. Her co-defendants faced twice as much time behind bars and fines of up to $250,000.
