WINTHROP — The Can Film Festival, with church-sponsored films for food, will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Friends Meeting House, Winthrop Center Road.

The festival will feature a two-hour movie, featuring Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The church is prohibited from publicizing the title of the film but, like others in the festival series, it will be shown without admission charge.

The “price of admission” is a can (or two or three cans) or boxed food items to help support the Winthrop and area food banks. Popcorn and modest refreshments will be served.

The Winthrop Food Bank posts its most needed items at http://winthropfood.org, as well as other items it can accept.
