ANDOVER — An Auburn man remained hospitalized Wednesday nearly two weeks after a pickup truck slid off Roxbury Pond Road, injuring five.
Nicholas Allen, 28, remained at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where he was listed in good condition. Police said Allen suffered broken bones and other injuries in the Nov. 30 wreck.
Maine State Police said Allen was a passenger in a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 39-year-old Jamison Leavitt of Minot when the truck slid across the icy roadway, went over an embankment and struck a utility pole before spinning and flipping.
Injured in the crash, in addition to Allen and Leavitt, were family members James Allen, 54, Tyler Allen, 21, and Gard Leavitt, 70. All of the victims are from the Auburn area, police said.
The victims were initially transported to Rumford Hospital, where they were treated for a variety of injuries, including broken bones and abrasions.
Police said it appeared everyone riding in the truck was wearing a seat belt. By late Wednesday, no charges had been filed, although police said an investigation was ongoing.
