Historical Societies join for potluck
MEXICO — The Rumford and Mexico Historical Societies are hosting their annual Christmas potluck supper for their members at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, in the Calvin Lyons Room of the Mexico Town Hall on Route 2.
The Byron, Dixfield and Peru Historical Societies’ members are also invited to share in this holiday event.
Each guest is asked to bring their favorite Christmas appetizer, casserole, salad or dessert to share. If you wish to share the recipe as well, type it out and place in front of the dish at the supper. Beverage and table utensils will be provided.
Everyone is asked to bring a nonperishable food item to fill a basket for the local food pantry. This year the need is greater than ever, and any contributions are much appreciated.
Stephens High Class of 1949
MEXICO — The members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for their regular monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Far East.
Attendees are invited to bring a money donation for the Food Pantry instead of personal Christmas gifts.
MVHS Winter Concert is Dec. 19
RUMFORD — The Mountain Valley High School band and chorus will hold the annual winter concert on Thursday, Dec. 19, beginning at 6 p.m. in Muskie Auditorium. The concert is free of charge and alumni are encouraged to participate.
Board members needed
LEWISTON — Community Concepts in Lewiston is seeking volunteer members for its board of directors and various committees that help support and direct the mission of the agency.
Community Concepts provides a variety of housing, economic development and social services for communities in the Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford county areas. These services support both the basic needs of low income families and promote self-sufficiency.
The board invites those who have a background in business, marketing, law or accounting, and who have interest in its mission. Board meetings are held at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.
