AUBURN — Haley Frolich, Taylor Landry and Madison Derosa netted two goals each Wednesday as Leavitt/EL skated to a 8-0 rout over York in girls’ hockey action.
Mariah Vaillancourt and Danica Nadeau also tallied for the Red Hornets (3-2) to complete the scoring.
Savannah Shaw made six saves to preserve the shutout, while Emily Mahoney and Sophie Stephens combined to make 19 saves for York.
Boys’ hockey
Bangor 7, Edward Little 1
AUBURN — Trevor DeLiate turned in a hat trick as Bangor erupted with four goals in the second period and beat Edward Little 7-1 in a boys’ hockey game Wednesday night.
The Red Eddies took the lead in the first period when William Benson scored.
But the Rams came alive in the second, with DeLiate scoring two of his three goals.

Dirigo 48, Boothbay 46
BOOTHBAY — Riley Robinson made a nice inside move to score a basket with just two seconds left in regulation to give Dirigo a 48-46 win over Boothbay in an MVC action Wednesday.
Dylan Kidder led the Cougars (2-0) with 19 points, while Robinson finished with 13.
The Seahawks (0-1) were paced by John Hepburn with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Andrew Hallinan also contributed with 10 points.
Madison 61, Wiscasset 57
MADISON — Dale Peaslee sparked a 21-11 fourth-quarter run as Madison hustled to a 61-57 victory over Wiscasset in a boys’ basketball tilt.
Peaslee led the Bulldogs (2-1) with 14 points, including six in that key fourth frame. Jennings Souza chipped in with 13 points, while Travis Padilla added 10.
The Wolverines (2-1) were paced by Ty Cowan with a game-high 24 points, while Chase Malloy contributed with 11.
Girls’ basketball
Mountain Valley 47, Telstar 19
BETHEL — After building a 23-8 advantage in the first half, Mountain Valley cruised home to a 47-19 rout over Telstar in an MVC girls’ contest Wednesday.
Karen Flaherty and Shannon Laubauskas led the Falcons (2-0) with 10 points apiece. Tori Ryerson led the Rebels (0-3) with a seven-point effort, while Becca Howard added six.
Oxford Hills 59, Mt. Ararat 42
PARIS — Anna Winslow led a trio of players in double figures Wednesday as Oxford Hills hustled to a 59-42 victory over Mt. Ararat in an MVC girls’ matchup.
Winslow led the Vikings with 20 points, including six in the fourth quarter. Crystal West chipped in with 13 points, while Brooke Murch added 11.
Mt. Ararat was paced by Caitlin LaFountain with a solid 12-point effort, while Lindsey Carrelison chipped in with 10.
College basketball
Bowdoin 70, UMF 65
BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin sophomore Shannon Brady scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Polar Bear women’s basketball team survived Maine-Farmington 70-65 Wednesday evening.
Brady’s third double-double of the season paced the Polar Bears as her 29 points were the highest by a Bowdoin (9-0) player since Katie Bergeron scored 29 against Colby in February of 2011.
She was joined in double figures by Marle Curle, who scored 12 of her 16 points in the second half, and 15 from Sara Binkhorst.
The Beavers (3-5) were led by 17 from Kennadi Grover, who connected on 7 of her 9 shots from the field. Ayla Allen had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Farmington, while Lindsay Ranquist also had 14 in the loss.
