FARMINGTON — Police said a woman from Industry was charged with failing to stop at a red light Wednesday after her car struck two other vehicles on the Wilton Road.
Peggy Hinkley, 55, of Industry was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu west on Routes 2 and 4, also known as Wilton Road, when she went through the red light in front of Hannaford’s, Farmington police officer Darin Gilbert said.
Her vehicle struck a 2004 Subaru Forester driven by Annie Dexter, 18, of Strong, who was turning right from Hannaford Drive on a green light, Gilbert said. The impact spun Hinkley’s car 180 degrees. It went across the opposite lanes and struck a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Larry Lord, 55, of Jay who was traveling east.
Hinkley complained of neck and head pain and was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital, Gilbert said. She was issued a summons on a charge of failing to stop at a red light.
Neither Dexter nor Lord were injured.
Dexter’s vehicle was pushed off the road into a snowbank next to the Hannaford turn. Her vehicle was towed from the scene by Collins Wrecker.
Lord’s plow and plow frame received most of the impact, Gilbert said.
Hinkley’s vehicle was towed by Bryan’s Autobody.
Farmington police officer Michael Lyman and Chief Jack Peck helped at the scene, along with members of Farmington Fire and Rescue.
