CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers recently lost one of their own. Claire Trask tragically died in a car accident in September.
Wanting to remember all the good things about Claire, the group decided to invite the neighborhood to a get-together to share stories.
Members busily decorated the Chesterville Town Office in bright colors and baked and prepared several treats to enjoy. A guest book was signed and another circulated to write down memories. It was later presented to Claire’s family.
There were pictures and a plaque displayed. Some people got up and shared stories. One of the stories was about Claire selling a trailer and giving the money to the Chesterville Church to help defray the cost of renovations to the church. Another involved her participation helping with Vacation Bible School in the summer.
Yet another story was how Claire was always looking for items for the town’s Halloween and Christmas parties. In fact, the pinata used at this year’s Halloween party was donated by Claire as well as the plastic ornaments to paint at the craft table for the upcoming Christmas party.
She had a big heart and was a very caring person. She will be missed.
