LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen agreed Monday to sell land on Diamond Road to an abutter for $325.
The property is .8 of an acre and is nonconforming and nonbuildable, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said.
The property abutters are Warren Smith and Central Maine Power Co., she said. Smith, who works for the Sewer Department and wastewater treatment plant, offered $325 for the property, she said.
The assessed value is $523, Flagg told selectmen. Since Smith is an abutter and the only one likely to be able to use the land, the property was not put out to bid.
Selectmen agreed to the sale because the property will now go back on the tax rolls.
In other business, Flagg updated selectmen on a U.S. Department of Homeland Security grant for $6,748 that the Police Department has received. The grant will be used to upgrade the computer server to develop a central server with a higher level of security for officers to download video evidence and photographs that will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office.
