Weary Club meets Jan. 18
NORWAY — The Weary Club of Norway will hold a coffee at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.

West Paris food pantry
WEST PARIS — The Neighborhood Niche Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St.
The pantry is open the first and third Tuesday of each month. West Paris residents are invited to come once a month.
Spurrs Corner food pantry hours
OTISFIELD — The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The pantry is open to residents of Otisfield on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. For information call 583-4780 or 627-4329.
Lewiston Bridge Club winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Jan. 13 were as follows: first, Mary Trafton and Luke Merry; second, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; third, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; first in B, Donna Bartlett and Sue Kaluzynski.
Winners on Jan. 13 were: first/second/third tie, Rosemarie and Tom Goodwin with Katy Burden and Mary Trafton and Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fourth, Paul Sherman and Mike True; first in B, Kathy Burden and Mary Trafton; second, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; first in C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.
Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all social bridge players are welcomed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for more information.

Discussion on health care
NORWAY — A presentation and discussion on “Health Care is a Human Right” will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Fare Share Commons, 443 Main St.
Drew Joy and other representatives from the Workers’ Center in Portland will be on hand to explain how the Vermont Workers’ Center inspired their ongoing campaign for a health care system that is publicly funded and universally available.
They are engaged in building a political movement for health care based on human rights principles.
Refreshments will be served.

Soup, Chowder Fest is Jan. 25
OTISFIELD — Coming soon to East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, 231 Rayville Road, is the fourth annual Soup and Chowder Fest put on by Al and Pattie Haggerty.The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. If it rains or snows, it will be held Saturday, Feb. 1.
The menu includes Al’s seafood chowder, turkey soup, beef stew, Pauline’s gluten-free corn chowder, vegetable soup and Fred’s famous Dutch pea soup. There will also be cornbread, dumplings, biscuits and desserts.
Rayville Road is off Route 121; the church is a mile or so up the road. For more information, call 539-8922. Donations are appreciated.
