WARREN (AP) — The Maine Department of Corrections is investigating the death of an inmate at the state prison in Warren.

The department says 53-year-old Stephen Ray Gravel of Oxford died at about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.

State police and the state medical examiner’s office are reviewing the death.

Gravel had served about five years of a 16-year sentence for gross sexual assault.
