- A “Do Not Enter” sign has been posted at one end of the yard at the Livermore Falls Highway Department. To get sand, residents will need to go to either the Transfer Station on Diamond Road when it is open or the Police Station parking lot located behind the Town Office. The latter spot will be monitored by a security camera, police and the Town Office staff. With highway trucks needing to come in and out by the sand pile at the garage during storms, it has become too dangerous for both the employees and the residents who are trying to get sand at the same time, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said.
- One of two new spots for Livermore Falls residents to get sand is behind the Police Station in a section of the parking lot. A “Do Not Enter” sign has been posted at one end of the yard at the Livermore Falls Highway Department, where residents were formerly allowed to get sand. The other pile of sand is at the Transfer Station, which is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
