SOUTH PARIS — Junior forward Anna Winslow hauled in 14 points as Oxford Hills edged past Skowhegan 36-32 in KVAC girls’ basketball action.
Oxford Hills was down one point going into the final quarter of regulation and surged a 13-8 fourth to secure the victory. The Vikings (10-4) were paced by five scorers on the day — all finishing with over four points.
Alanna Atkinson and Morgan Buker tallied eight points apiece for the Indians, who drop to 8-6 with the loss.
Spruce Mountain 59, Madison 23
MADISON — Junior Emily Keene dropped in 18 points as Spruce Mountain routed Madison 59-23 in girls’ MVC basketball action on Monday.
Samantha Richards supported the offensive attack with 10 points for the Phoenix, who remain undefeated on the season (15-0). Nicole Hamblin chipped in nine as well for Spruce Mtn.
Kirstin Wood led the scoring effort for the Bulldogs (10-5) with five points.
Mt. Abram 47, Telstar 39
SALEM — Alex Harnden threw in 17 points and knocked down three 3-pointers as Mt. Abram ditched Telstar 47-39 in a girls’ basketball game Monday.
The Roadrunners (2-13) built a 23-15 lead before the Rebels (2-13) roared back with 17 points in the third quarter.
Brooke Millbury scored 14 points for the Roadrunners. Telstar’s Becca Howard and Tori Ryerson combined for 25 points.
Boys’ hockey
Skowhegan/Lawrence 4, Edward Little 2
AUBURN — Cody Martin dropped three into the back of the net for a hat trick as Skowhegan slid by Edward Little 4-2 in a boys’ ice hockey contest on Monday.
Anthony Paul belted the only other goal into the back of the net for the Bandits (6-5). Chase Nelson paced the Skowhegan offense with two assists on the day. Edward Little outshot the Bandits 35-23, but was slowed down by a strong goalkeeping effort from Sam Edmondson, who nabbed 33 shots.
Branden Dyer scored the two lone goals for the Red Eddies, who fall to 7-4 on the season.
