Poor Richard Sherman, the Seattle Seahawks cornerback. He is baffled why some people are so upset with him. He doesn’t seem to understand the difference between showing passion for the game of football and just being a jerk.
His over-the-top, angry rant on television following the Seahawks-49ers game, when he claimed to the world that he was the best player on the planet and that anyone who would “dare” challenge him on the football field is either a fool or a chump, may be why some people were taken aback.
What example did he display to young athletes about good sportsmanship and respect for others?
Ridiculing and berating an opponent is not passion, it is merely being a bully.
