- Farmington firefighters clean the plugged chimney at Bill and Carol Hatch’s home on Bennett Street in Wilton. The plugged chimney caught fire and spread to the walls Tuesday morning, fire Chief Sonny Dunham said. There was minimum damage, he said. Bill Hatch said he was in Livermore Falls when the fire started. His wife, their 3-year-old great-grandson and his wife’s aunt safely escaped the house. Firefighters from Wilton, Chesterville, East Dixfield, Jay and Farmington responded.

A fire that started in a plugged chimney in a garage/wood stove room spread to the walls of the house, Wilton fire Chief Sonny Dunham said. Flames were showing from the walls, he said. There was minimum damage to the house. Firefighters from Wilton, Chesterville, East Dixfield, Jay and Farmington responded. Bill Hatch said he was in Livermore Falls when the fire started. His wife got their 3-year-old great-grandson and her aunt safely out of the house and into a pickup truck.
