- Wilton police Sgt. Chad Abbott, center, was honored recently by the Maine Legislature for actions taken to save the life of a 15-month-old Wilton boy who stopped breathing in September due to an undiagnosed heart problem. Abbott used a defibrillator and started chest compressions before medics from NorthStar emergency services arrived, Wilton police Chief Heidi Wilcox, right, said. His actions were guided by the paramedics en route to the scene. Abbott and Wilcox were guests of state Sen. Tom Saviello, R-Wilton, left.
