Dirigo High School senior Sawyer Smith, 18, leaves the exchange zone during the Leavitt Duathlon at Leavitt Area High School in Turner on Tuesday. Seven high school Nordic ski teams from as far away as Rockport raced for fun during the celebration that marked the end of the ski season. Auburn native Dustin Williamson started the tradition ten years ago when he started coaching the Leavitt team. “This is a great fun, end of the season, dress up kind of extravaganza,” Williamson said. The 5K race required a switch from classic skis to skate skis at the halfway mark.
