JAY — Selectpersons have reappointed several residents to the Budget Committee.

The board made the appointments on Monday.

Reappointed to terms that will expire on Dec. 31 are Terry Bergeron, April Hartford, Charles Riekert, Vickie Braley and Ricky Merrill. There is a vacant alternate position with a term that expires at the end of the year.

Reappointed to terms that expire on Dec. 31, 2015, are Tom Fortier, Pamela Newton, Beth Wright, William Rider and Michael Schaedler. There is a vacant position for a regular member and one for an alternate for terms that expire at the end of 2015.

The board also agreed to put a four-unit apartment building at 409 Old Jay Hill Road back out to bid after none was submitted by the deadline.

The back taxes are $4,378, sewer fees are $2,903 and water fees are $184, for a total of $7,465, according to a memo. The board had previously asked that the minimum bid be set at $8,200 to recoup costs. The water fees will be collected by the Water District.

The board also voted to enter into an engineering contract with Wright-Pierce of Portland and Topsham at a cost of $5,200 for work on Smith Avenue, off Route 4 and Route 140.
