Chocolate Church adds guitar virtuoso Patty Larkin to April schedule
BATH —
Larkin has been redefining the boundaries of folk-urban pop music for over 25 years. She is a guitar virtuoso who has experimented with live track looping and even dipped her toe into hip-hop. But at her essence, Larkin is a singer-songwriter, spawned from the 1970s movement that brought Joni Mitchell and Richard Thompson to popular culture.
Boston-based Larkin enthralls audiences with her inventive guitar wizardry and uncompromising vocals and lyrics. Acoustic Guitar hails her “soundscape experiments” while Rolling Stone praises her “evocative and sonic shading.” She has been described as “riveting” (Chicago Tribune), “hypnotic”(Entertainment Weekly) and a “drop-dead brilliant” performer (Performing Songwriter).
Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 the day of show and are available at www.chocolatechurcharts.com or 207-442-8455.
- The Chocolate Church Arts Center, located at 804 Washington Street, has expanded its musical schedule by presenting Patty Larkin for one night only at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 11.
