WELD — Mount Blue State Park visitors now can get a large, full-color map of the park and what it has to offer instead of a black-and-white photocopy.
Park ranger Bruce Farnham said Wednesday that the new maps were delivered last month. The free maps will be available at the entrance booth and at park headquarters.
“We’ve never had one like this,” Farnham said. “Before, we only had a photocopy. It’s quite an upgrade.”
He said the maps were federally funded through the Recreational Trails Program and took a couple of years to make.
“I’m pretty happy with it,” Farnham said. “This will help people out.”
For one thing, the new map shows all of the park’s popular hiking area trails, including the Tumbledown Mountain area that’s public land.
Information about the park, rules, timber management, history, services and facilities are listed on the reverse side of the map.
