Dancing With Staff now March 19
LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon School Department’s grand finale of Dancing With The Staff has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 19.
Postponed due to weather last Thursday, the final three couples will take to the gymnasium/ballroom dance floor at Lisbon High School, 2 Sugg Drive, to compete for the prestigious gold ball trophy.
The event features the sensational artistic talents of Darrell Orr and Catherine Messmer; Gretchen Ward and Sara Brown; and Rastus Coombs and Maddy Cornish.
This event happens only every two years and Wednesday’s performances will be the end of an era.
Additional entertainment will be provided during intermission by Alma-Lea’s Dance Studio of Lisbon Falls. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Show starts promptly at 7. Tickets are available at the door. Adults $5, students $3 and under 3 free. All proceeds benefit the Class of 2014 and the Drama Club.
March Madness breakfast at Spring Rock
LEEDS — Spring Rock Park Residents’ Association will hold its March Madness Breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Leeds Community Church, 123 Church Hill Road. The public is invited.
Menu will include blueberry pancakes, veggie and sausage egg strata, home-fries, muffins, bacon, juice and coffee. Cost is $5 per person.
Bean, ham supper set for March 22
LISBON — A home-baked bean and ham supper will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, 14 School St.
Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for ages 6 to 12 and free for 5 and under.
The meal is hosted by the Methodist Women.
Bean supper at Gray church
GRAY — A baked bean supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the First Congregational Church, Route 115.
The meal includes casseroles, salads, homemade breads and desserts.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
The church is handicapped accessible.

United New Auburn meeting March 25
AUBURN — A United New Auburn Association meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Rolly’s Diner.
There will be free refreshments and a $25 cash door prize. Must be present to win.
Speaker will be Alan S. Manoian, Auburn’s economic development specialist. Manoian will present a series of neighborhood stories of historic New Auburn taken from the pages of the old Lewiston Evening Journal between 1870 and 1970.
All are welcome.
Adult ed to offer watercolor class
AUBURN — The Auburn Adult & Community Education brochure is offering Art of Watercolor, starting Tuesday, April 1, at Edward Little High School, in room 144.
The art instructor is Barbara Hathaway, Painter of Sunsets. The techniques used will quickly make landscapes with sky, sunset, mountains, trees, water and reflections. Other objects can be added for detail.
Students will have fun mixing colors and watching demos as they paint. Students work at their own pace and can use their own photos as inspiration. The class is for beginners to semi-pro.
Materials needed are: 140 lb. Watercolor paper, 3 WC brushes, WC paint set, palette, rag and jar for water. The fee for the class is $66 and it runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for five sessions. Other mediums can be considered including oil, pastels and acrylics.
