LEWISTON — The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will host a seminar on employment issues Thursday, March 27. It will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the chamber office at 415 Lisbon St.
The seminar will be presented by Rebecca Webber. She has practiced law for more than 20 years, with most of those years focused on employment law. She is a partner at Skelton Taintor & Abbott.
Her talk is titled “Ten Tips to Avoiding the Commission, Courts, and Claims — Employment Issues Affecting Your Small Business.” She will identify a number of areas that seem to crop up the most and will help companies reduce the risk of claims, commission actions and court cases. The discussion will range from harassment policies to wage and hour issues to social media policies to personnel files and more.
If there are particular issues attendees would like to see addressed — not requests for legal advice on a specific matter — send them in advance to rwebber@STA-law.com.
The cost of the seminar is $25. Visit www.androscoggincounty.com or call 783-2249 to register.
