OXFORD — The Mollyockett Chorus will present Friends and Family Night at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oxford.
Member Marylin Newell said in a press release that it’s a long-standing tradition for the chorus to invite friends, family, former chorus members and the community at large to attend their dress rehearsal.
The Mollyockett Chorus will sing songs they will perform in competitions, Newell said, along with some of their favorite songs.
Refreshments will be available.
The Mollyockett Chorus was first chartered in 1996. It rehearses at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Oxford church.
“New members are always welcome,” Newell said.
The women’s chorus focuses on singing barbershop harmony, a musical style sung without accompaniment or a vocal lead.
Members are from Norway, Oxford, South Paris, Bethel, Rumford, Waterford, Lovell, Newry, Hebron, Bryant Pond, Bridgton, Naples, Stoneham and Windham.
