HARTFORD — The Board of Selectmen approved a request for $2,000 to buy equipment to test the gravel the town buys.
Harley Swanson of the Road Committee made the request at Thursday’s board meeting. The request also must be approved by the road commissioner because the money would come from the equipment reserve account.
Maynard & Sons Trucking of Sumner won a three-year snowplowing contract with its low bid of $3,300 per mile. It starts next winter. The losing bidder was Ricky Walton.
The mowing bid was awarded to Dave’s Home Improvement for $5,645 per year for three years.
The board proposed a treasurer’s payroll policy which does not allow prepayment of wages.
The board accepted with regret the resignation of Neil Hanley from the Budget and Road committees.
There will be a community workshop that includes budget issues from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 1 at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School in Sumner. RSU 10 board members and school administrators will be present.
