SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The following area residents recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Nicholas R. Parshall is the son of Sandra and Jeffrey Parshall of Scarborough. He is a 2010 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, Auburn.

Air Force Reserve Airman Colton R. Burne is the son of Brian Burne of Topsham. He is a 2013 graduate of Mount Ararat High School, Topsham.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Brandon S. Smith is the son of Kelly and Scott Smith of Auburn. He is a 2013 graduate of Edward Little High School, Auburn.

Air Force Airman Kayla-Rae L. Ross is the daughter of Tonia and Brian Ross of Sabattus. She is a 2013 graduate of Oak Hill High School, Wales.
