RUMFORD — The Holy Savior Catholic School will hosting a Thirty-One bag raffle during April and May to help raise money for school functions, volunteer Jen DiMascio said.
Residents donate a variety of items to the school and staff put them in tote bags from Thirty-One, a retailer for totes and other gifts (www.thirtyonegifts.com).
“Sometimes, we have themed bags, whether it’s a bag full of beach items or a bag filled with fishing material,” DiMascio said.
Tickets are sold for $6 each, or 2 for $10, with all proceeds going toward school functions.
“Sometimes we have field trips or events that we want to send the children on and, although the school has a certain budget each year, these raffles really help,” DiMascio said.
Residents may purchase tickets during April and starting May 1 the school will raffle one bag each day for the entire month.
“After someone’s name is drawn, it will be put back and they have another chance to win,” DiMascio said.
This is the first year that the school has elected to raffle off bags from Thirty-One instead of baskets from Longaberger, she said.
“It got to the point where people were donating the baskets back to us because they didn’t want them,” DiMascio said. “We figured that it was time for a change, so we switched to the bags.”
Tickets may be purchased, starting April 1, from Holy Savior School and Davis Florist.
