HARRISON — Firefighters quickly doused a water-heater fire at a home on Bolsters Mill Road at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The owners of the 383 Bolsters Mill Road home and four dogs were there at the time of the fire, but all were reported safe, according to Kenneth Allderige, who lives next to the home.
Allderige said he received a call from his daughter, the homeowner, saying the water heater was smoking.
“I said, ‘Shut the power off,'” he said.
Allderige said a new water heater was due to arrive at his daughter’s house any day.
Firefighters remained on the scene for about an hour cleaning up and pulling an Oxford County Sherrif’s car out of the muddy driveway.
Firefighters from Harrison, Paris, Norway, Oxford, Otisfield, Bridgton and Naples responded to the scene.
