Apple expert to speak
PHILLIPS — John Bunker Jr., an expert on heritage apples, will be at the Phillips Area Community Center on Depot Street at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome.
Snacks will be available.
The event is hosted by the Sandy River Business Association.
Book sale, boutique, breakfast
WAYNE — A book sale, boutique and breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 5, at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.
First Saturday at the Williams House offers shopping at the ongoing book sale and boutique, where new donations arrive every week. Stay long enough for a visit with neighbors and a cup of coffee or tea.
This month there will be quiche and cinnamon buns available. All proceeds benefit the Cary Memorial Library.
Bean supper at Grace Fellowship
OXFORD — Grace Fellowship Church of Poplar Avenue will hold a baked bean supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
The menu will consist of baked beans, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, biscuits, cornbread, homemade pies and beverages. The price is $8 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Roast turkey at Deering Memorial
PARIS — A roast turkey dinner with all the fixin’s and homemade pies will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Deering Memorial Methodist Church, 39 Main St.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
Parking is available behind the library and Town Office.
Spring Jumble Sale is April 5
PARIS — The Spring Jumble Sale will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at the First Baptist Church of Paris, 500 Paris Hill Road. A bag sale will follow at 11:15.
Due to renovations the fall sale could not be held, so many items are available. This sale has some of everything including books, clothing, furniture, household, holiday, gardening, baby, vintage, antique items and more.
Check out Miss Marilyn’s Awesome Bake Sale, and Miss Jean’s Emporium where there will be some fantastic items for sale at great prices.

1st Saturday Community Supper
SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner, 50 Main St., will have its monthly 1st Saturday Community Supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
The menu is soup, chili and chowder with breads and gingerbread with whipped cream.
There will be raffle items available. Donations are requested for the meal. All proceeds benefit the work of the church, which includes hosting the Sumner Food Bank, providing youth scholarships for Christian camps and various mission outreach projects.
