Session on building ponds
FARMINGTON — Anyone wanting to dig a new pond for wildlife, trout stocking, fire protection or just for enjoyment should join Franklin County SWCD at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the Farmington Municipal Building’s downstairs conference room.
Bobby Van Riper from the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Service and Candi Gilpatric, Maine Natural Resources Conservation Service civil engineer, will be the presenters for this very informative session. Van Riper will discuss many topics including the importance of oxygen levels and temperature for fish health along with other biology type information such as algae and cattail control.
Participants will be given a “Ponds – Planning, Design, Construction” handbook, a set of informational handouts and a certificate of participation, plus new knowledge about ponds.
The cost is $25. A registration form may be picked up at the office at 107 Park St.
Underwood Library open house
FAYETTE — The Underwood Memorial Library will have an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in honor of National Library Week.
Learn about the ancestry program and about the Maine Infonet downloadable e-books available through the library.Visit with the staff and enjoy refreshments.
Easter bake sale set for April 18
FARMINGTON — Franklin Memorial Auxiliary will hold an Easter bake sale on Friday, April 18, at Franklin Memorial Hospital. It will start at 7:30 a.m. and run until items are gone.
Public supper at American Legion
LIVERMORE FALLS — American Legion Post 10 George Bunten will hold a public supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Post, 17 Reynolds Ave.
Cost for adults, $7; kids under 12, $4.
Menu includes homemade baked beans, red hot dogs, biscuits, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, assorted casseroles and vegetables, desserts and coffee.
Delivery is available to local addresses.

No Masonic supper in April
WILTON — In observance of Easter, there will not be a public Masonic supper on April 19, at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Hall, 70 Bryant Road in East Wilton.
The next public Masonic supper will be held Saturday, May 17. Menu will be roast pork loin.

Easter service, breakfast April 20
WILTON — Pilgrim Commandery No. 19 Knights Templar will hold its annual Easter service and breakfast at the Farmington/Wilton Masonic Hall on the Bryant Road in East Wilton.
The service will be held at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, April 20. All Sir Knights and Master Masons are invited to attend along with their sons and grandsons. Donations will be accepted for the breakfast.
Wilton scholarship applications
WILTON — Applications for the 2014 Wilton Scholarship Foundation scholarships are available at the Mt. Blue Guidance Department, Wilton Town Office and Wilton Public Library. Applications can also be downloaded from the Guidance Department website at mbrsd.org.
