Hello everyone,

Finally, some sunshine to brighten our days! I am sure I am not the only one who feels like this winter is lasting forever. But, no worries, there is an end in sight and warmer days are on the horizon.

Now I’m not trying to rush this year along, but I do have some exciting news for the autumn. The River Valley Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the return of the River Valley EXPO. This two-day event will be held Friday, September 19, as a “business-to-business” event and Saturday, September 20, will be open to the public. This EXPO should have something for everyone, so you’re not going to want to miss it.

Invitations are being sent out this week to businesses throughout the River Valley. This EXPO is open to Chamber members and NON-member businesses. So if you don’t get your invitation in the mail, please be sure to contact Cheryl at the Chamber office, 207-364-3241 and she will get a registration package in the mail to you. The Chamber does not want to overlook anyone, so please contact us for more info.

Also, we are looking for sponsorships for the River Valley EXPO. There are many different levels and ALL of them include at least one EXPO display booth and some sort of advertising for your business. If you don’t see a package that appeals to you and your business, please contact Cheryl or myself; we would be happy to discuss putting a sponsorship package together that suits your business.

Reminder: Memberships are due at this time. As of April 1, 2014, anyone who has NOT paid their membership dues has been removed from the River Valley Chamber website. Please, get your membership in the mail today or go to our website and use the Paypal link to join today.

There is so much going on in the River Valley this spring; I don’t want you to miss a thing. I urge you, be a part of your community. Jean Vanier, philosopher turned theologian, and humanitarian said, “Many people are good at talking about what they are doing, but in fact do little. Others do a lot but don’t talk about it; they are the ones who make a community live.”

Being involved does not mean you have to run for selectman or even join a board. Being involved is supporting the businesses, events and community that you live in. So I ask you, this spring, before you get in your car and head to Auburn, find out what is happening in the River Valley and become a part of it.

Sincerely,

Janet Brennick
