Key loss: Jackie Gauthier (pole vault, sprints).

Season outlook: The Hornets are still building their program, but Richards is excited about the enthusiasm and potential. DeGone had a breakthrough season in 2013, finishing second in the conference in javelin. As was the case for most coaches, Richards’ ability to get a scouting report on her large first-year class was hampered in preseason by a snow-covered track.
