RICHMOND — Residents of a Richmond mobile home park say they don’t know where they’ll live now that they’ve been ordered to vacate their homes.
The Meadowbrook Trailer Park has been plagued by leaky pipes and sewage overflows for years and on Tuesday the town cut the water supply to the nine homes, making them unsanitary.
Residents have until 5 p.m. Thursday to clear out.
Town officials say pipes are so leaky, the nine homes in the park use 10 percent of the town’s water. The sewage overflows endanger a nearby brook.
The park’s owner says he can’t afford to make repairs because rent money has been withheld by the property manager since October.
Residents, many of whom are low-income, say they can’t afford an apartment, hotel or even a moving truck.
