PERU — Three residents are running for two open seats on the Board of Selectmen, secretary Angela Barkhouse said Monday evening.

Filing nomination papers by the April 25 deadline were Selectman Lee Merrill, Wendy Henderson and former board Chairman Tim Holland.

Holland was one of four selectmen recalled from office in March 2013 after a debate over whether former Selectman Kathy Hussey should have been able to serve simultaneously as a selectman and as a town employee.

Barkhouse said Merrill was elected to a 14-month term in April 2013 to replace one of the four selectmen.

The second open seat is the result of former Selectman Laurieann Milligan resigning from her post in late 2013.

Barkhouse said residents will vote Tuesday, June 10, at the Town Office.
