DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church will host its annual Spring Fling from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3.
“We’ve been doing it for at least two years, maybe longer,” church member Beverly Glover said. “Every year, we have our Christmas fair in the winter, our strawberry festival in the summer and a harvest festival in the fall. At some point, we decided we wanted to do something for the spring months. That’s how we came up with the idea for a Spring Fling,” she said.
Events in the morning include a crafts table, a rummage sale and a lunch of hot dogs for $4, a chili dog for $5 and a lobster roll for $8. All meals will include homemade french fries, beverages and dessert. Take-out will be available.
Attendees will receive a raffle ticket at the door, Glover said.
“If people go to every table throughout the event and get their ticket punched, they’ll be entered into a drawing for a $150 Visa gift card,” she said. “They don’t have to buy anything at the tables. They just have to visit them.”
Glover said church members and volunteers have set up The Men’s Table of Surprises that will have homemade foods and baked goods to sample and purchase.
All proceeds will go toward church activities and renovations, Glover said.
