Program on HPV set for Thursday
LEWISTON — Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by human papilloma virus, or HPV. What is HPV, how do you get it and how you can prevent it? Join Elizabeth Linnell, M.D., at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, as she answers those questions.
Linnell will also discuss the cervical cancer screening test Pap smear, new test guidelines and what they mean for women in the community.
The presentation will take place in the Bank of America Conference Room in the Corinne Croteau Lepage Women’s Health Pavilion, 330 Sabattus St. To register, call 777-8458.
Car wash fundraiser is May 10
LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon High School and P.W. Sugg Middle School Jobs for Maine’s Graduates program will host a car wash fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Aubuchon Hardware.
Proceeds will help pay for student competitions and ceremonies, as well as donations to local organizations.
Yard sale items half price on May 10
MONMOUTH — The East Monmouth Ladies Auxiliary will have items from their annual indoor yard sale available at half price from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10, at East Monmouth Church Vestry & Basement, Route 135, East Monmouth.
Many varied and unique items will be for sale, all in clean working condition. Sale proceeds benefit East Monmouth Methodist Church.
