LEWISTON — School Committee meeting, 6:45 p.m. at Lewiston High School. On agenda: proficiency-based learning diploma that will impact this fall’s freshmen class, decision on pay-to-pay ($10) for high school sports.
TUESDAY, May 13
LEWISTON — Referendum on School Department budget, voting from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Longley Elementary School gym, 145 Birch St. Budget calls for $17.9 million in local taxes, which would mean a $22.50 property tax increase on a home valued at $150,000.
THURSDAY, May 15
AUBURN — Central Maine Community College graduation, 6 p.m., Androscoggin Bank Colisee, Lewiston. A total of 515 graduates will receive degrees at the college’s 50th commencement.
LEWISTON — Community discussion of the meaning of home, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 15 at Lewiston Public Library. Five local people will share a personal story about what home means to them. The discussion will focus on how the concept of home has changed for many residents of Lewiston-Auburn during the past decade. Free, open to public, no registrations required, funded by Maine Humanities Council.
