WARREN (AP) — A Maine man convicted of killing an 18-year-old woman more than 40 years ago is scheduled to appear before the state parole board this week to seek his freedom.
Michael Boucher was convicted of murder in 1991 of the 1973 slaying of Debra Dill. Authorities say he picked her at random, rammed his car into hers to get her to stop, then strangled and beat her with a hammer in Litchfield.
He was tied to the slaying in 1991 and police found that he had a box of Dill’s belongings.
The 63-year-old Boucher’s parole hearing is scheduled for Thursday at the Maine State Prison in Warren.
Dill’s family tells the Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/1hHa3jG ) they plan to show up in force to persuade the board to keep Boucher behind bars.
