LISBON — Kyle Bourget struck out 12 and scattered six hits as Lisbon defeated Winthrop 6-3 in MVC baseball action Tuesday.
Joe Philbrick had three hits for Lisbon (6-2)
The Greyhounds rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the third, plating all six runs in the bottom of the same inning.
The Ramblers (3-4) scored three in the top of the third on an RBI single by Mario Meucci and a two-run double from Ben Allen.
In the bottom of the inning, Lisbon answered with a Tucker Brannon two-run single. Then Joe Philbrick, Brett Gravel and Darren Ward followed with RBI singles. Tyler Halls’ infield hit made it 6-3.
Allen took the loss for Winthrop, striking out six in five innings.
York 21, Gray-NG 0
GRAY — Derek Neal led a 17-hit attack for York with four, including a double, as the Wildcats pounded Gray-New Gloucester 21-0 in a WMC baseball clash Tuesday.
Cole Merritt and Jordan Pidgeon added three hits each for York (5-3), including a double each, while Trevor Labonte picked up the win on the mound, tossing five innings of five-hit ball.
Tyler St. Pierre led the Patriots’ (5-3) offense with three hits. He was also the pitcher of record for Gray-New Gloucester after completing three innings of work and drops to 2-2 on the season.
Carrabec 10, Mountain Valley 2
RUMFORD — Levi Murray scattered five hits to lead Carrabec to a 10-2 win over Mountain Valley in MVC baseball action Tuesday.
The Cobras’ pitcher struck out six and walked just one.
Carrabec scored two in the first inning and added five more in the third to break the lead open.
Boog Dunphy, Trent Richardson, Hunter Fernald and Dustin Crawford each had a pair of hits for Carrabec (4-4). Nick Newman had two hits, drove in a run and scored both runs for the Falcons.
Softball
Mountain Valley 9, Carrabec 4
RUMFORD — Lindsay Marston allowed just three hits and drove in two runs with two hits to pace Mountain Valley to a 9-4 win over Carrabec Tuesday in MVC softball play.
The Falcons improved to 6-3 after rallying from an early 3-0 deficit. Marston drove in two runs in the bottom of the first. Then Mountain Valley took the lead with four runs in the third. The Falcons added another in the fifth and two more in the sixth to open the lead.
Carrabec drops to 4-4. Pitcher Mickayla Willette allowed eight hits for the Cobras.
Buckfield 21, Rangeley 0
RANGELEY — Alexis Bennett ripped a home run and Brianna Damon belted a pair of triples and drove in three runs as Buckfield scampered past Rangeley 21-0 in five innings Tuesday in an EWC softball matchup.
Bennett, Damon and Allannah Knox each had multiple hits for the Bucks (5-2).
Taylor Esty added a single and a triple for the Lakers (0-4).
Girls’ lacrosse
Morse 21, Mtn. Valley 3
RUMFORD — Ruth Nadeau paced Morse with six goals and three other players netted three each as the Shipbuilders sailed off with a 21-3 win over Mountain Valley in a Class B girl’ lacrosse contest Tuesday.
Madison Savary, Grace Kosloskyc and Sophie Sreden all had three for visiting Morse, while keeper Catherine Sener made five saves.
Katie Puiia led the Falcons with a pair of goals, and Taylor Smart chipped in with another. Jordan True made nine saves in the loss.
Cony 16, Edward Little 1
AUGUSTA — Emily Quirrion and Becca Coniff each had two goals to lead Cony to a 16-1 win over Edward Little.
The Rams (4-0) scored 13 goals in the first half and outshot EL 24-14 overall.
Fran Haines had the lone goal for EL. Rianna Rower made five saves in net for the Red Eddies (0-5). Cony’s Izzy Eames made 13 stops in goal.
