East Auburn shines
East Auburn picked up another pair of victories recently to remain undefeated in Auburn Suburban Major Baseball. East Auburn defeated Auburn Fire Fighters, 15-4.
William Cassidy picked up the win on the mound for East Auburn striking out seven batters in four innings of work. Chris Frey also pitched well in relief for East Auburn. Offensively, Ben Cassidy led East Auburn, going 4-for-4. Giles Paradie also had a pair of hits. Kamden Masselli, Cameron Langis, Christian Frey and Will Cassidy also had hits for the victors. For AFF, Marius Morneau went 2-for-2, including a towering home run to straight away center field. Anson Perry had AFF’s only other hit.
East Auburn went on to defeat Pepsi 7-6 in a thriller. Christian Frey and Ben Cassidy each had three hits, while Giles Paradie, Kamden Masselli, Will Cassidy and Braden Paradie all had one hit apiece for the victors. Giles Paradie picked up the win on the mound for East Auburn, and Ben Cassidy pitched the final inning, nailing down the save. Patrick Anthoine and Dylan Sellinger led the offensive attack for Pepsi with two hits apiece. Keenan St. Pierre, Tyler Jalbert, Cameron Winslow and Cy Saucier all picked up a hit as well. Anthoine and Landon Morrissette pitched well for Pepsi.
Austin Associates 10, Auburn Firefighters 0
Austin Associates took a lead of 3-0 in the second inning, while Auburn Firefighters struggled to hit a pitch off Jake Arel, as Austin rolled to a 10-0 victory.
Jake Arel pitched five innings with 10 strikeouts. Austin Associates continued the lead in the fifth after Drew Bennett’s hard hit triple. Auburn Firefighter’s entered the bottom of the sixth down 10-0 when Marius Morneau attempted a rally with a triple hit off the center field fence, but was never driven in to score with Austin’s Jason Brooker’s debut at the mound.
