FARMINGTON — The local American Legion Memorial Day parade will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, at the Roderick-Crosby Post 28 hall at Middle and High streets.

Parade participants will line up at the intersection starting at 8:30 a.m. Those with vehicles can line up in the circular driveway of the Mallett School.

The Legion Color Guard will lay a wreath at the World War I Memorial on upper Main Street at 9 a.m. All are welcome.

The Post will host a service in the hall at 9:30 a.m. A wreath will be placed outside the hall at 9:50 a.m.

The parade route will go from Middle Street, to High Street with an immediate left turn onto Academy Street. The parade will continue right onto Main Street heading for Meetinghouse Park. Three wreaths will be placed at military monuments in the park.

Continuing north on Main Street, the parade will go right onto Anson Street to the cemetery behind the old courthouse. A wreath will be placed in the cemetery and taps will be played.

The parade will continue on Anson Street and turn right onto High Street. It will continue to the Post hall, where a light lunch will be served to all in attendance.

Participants are welcome to walk with the Post.
