WINSLOW — Winslow police are asking the public to help find and identify a young woman who they say mysteriously vanished Saturday afternoon.

Winslow Patrol Officer Brandon Lund said a bicyclist saw a young woman near Two Cent Bridge around 2 p.m. Saturday. When the biker returned to the area 10 minutes later, the young woman was gone but her clothes were folded neatly in a pile, according to police.

Lund describes the girl as between 16 and 20 years old, petite and thin with short hair and a nose ring.

Winslow police, Maine game wardens and Winslow fire and rescue crews are searching the water below the Two Cent Bridge.

Lund said they have no idea what happened to this girl, who she is or where she went. They are asking anyone with information on her identity or whereabouts to call police immediately at 207-872-5215.
