LIVERMORE FALLS — Scottie Hall and Brendon Stearns each had RBI singles in the fifth inning to propel Spruce Mountain to a 2-1 victory over Dirigo on Saturday afternoon.

John McKenna picked up the win on the mound, allowing only three hits and striking out eight in the complete game to earn his second win of the season.

Dirigo picked up their run in the sixth inning. Gavin Arsenault went the distance for the Cougars in the losing effort.

Spruce Mountain improves to 5-8 while Dirigo suffers its second loss, dropping to 11-2.

Cony 5, Edward Little 2

AUGUSTA — The Cony Rams scored twice in the first and fourth innings en route to a 5-2 win over the Edward Little Red Eddies.

Payton Kennison picked up the victory as he relieved starter Justin Rodrigue in the fourth inning.

Evan Raymond was the lone repeat hitter for EL (6-6), while Reid Shostak also had two hits for Cony (7-6).

Softball

Cony 2, Edward Little 1

AUGUSTA — Alyssah Dennett, Kassidy Turgeon and Maggie Russell each had a double to power the Cony offense to a 2-1 victory over the Edward Little Red Eddies.

Arika Brochu went the distance for Cony picking up the victory while Molly Murrary also went the distance for EL.

Danny Rock picked up the Red Eddies lone hit.

Cony improves to 12-1 while the loss drops EL to 8-4.

Buckfield, Greenville split

BUCKFIELD — Greenville’s offense exploded for nine runs in the top of the eighth inning in game 1 of a doubleheader against Buckfield, allowing the visiting Lakers to earn a 14-6 win, but the Bucks roared back in the second game, claiming a 3-2 win.

Alexis Bennett and Arabine Dunn ripped four hits each over the two games to pace the Bucks’ offense, as they improved to 6-6 on the season. Catcher Kali Litchfield had four hits in the first game.

Kelly Charity earned both the win and the loss for Buckfield, while Greenville’s Molly Foley’s fate was the same.

Lindsay Senn and Danielle Mills paced the Lakers’ offense all afternoon.
