The group was organized in 1999 and have performed throughout the area for numerous non-profit agencies such as activities held on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. The group has taken part in the Vietnam Wall visit and the commemoration ceremonies on the anniversary of the Korean War. The Just Us Entertainers have also performed for the Lewiston Senior Citizens group at the Sawyer Memorial in Greene and at Oak Hill Middle School in Sabattus.
Consisting of 14 singers plus an accompanist, the Entertainer’s focus is on “keeping good music alive.” According to Nel Meservier, piano accompanist, “It is music you will recognize and remember the words to.”
This year’s show will feature new songs. The program will include “Someone Like You” from Jekyll and Hyde; “Music of the Night” from The Phantom of the Opera; and “Time to Say Goodbye” by Sarah Brightman. Also included in the program are songs from the 1950s through the ’80s and a “lively” Scandinavian song with German lyrics. The vocalists in this program include Bert Dutil, Paul Jalbert, Doris Surette, Jackie Asselin, Rita Milliken, Mike Barrett, Debbie Poulin, Marcel St. Pierre, Melissa St. Pierre, Lorraine Giasson, Lynda Wade, Norm Laplante, Rose Fredericks and Sue Rouleau.
