BRIDGTON — A funding page has been created to help a family burned out of their home early Wednesday at 385 North Bridgton Road.
Fire officials said the house was completely engulfed in flames when crews arrived at about midnight. Firefighters from more than a half dozen area towns battled the blaze.
A family of five escaped the fire without injury, fire officials said, but their home was destroyed. On Wednesday after, a funding page was set up at GoFundMe.com to help the family.
“Damon and Melissa Brooks lost their house and all of their possessions to a house fire,” according to the page. “Please help them in getting their lives back in order with the basic necessities.”
By early Wednesday night, eight people had made donations.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called to assist with the investigation, although the fire was not considered suspicious.
